Apart from residences, the NTM neighbourhood will be equipped with a range of shopping, leisure and entertainment facilities, alongside essential government, institution and community facilities, so as to serve the future students, teaching staff, researchers and medical workers from the UniTown and Integrated Hospital. In view of the development positioning of NTM, the housing will predominantly be private.
There will be an open space network, radiating from the railway station and encompassing the whole NTM. The central open space will be lined with commercial and leisure facilities, facilitating interactions of people, and meeting the social needs of the younger generation, creating an array of open and diverse living spaces. The open space network will extend along the revitalised nullah in an east-west direction, serving as a key pedestrian and cyclist corridor across NTM.
